Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy 5.1 Install Question

When doing an upgrade from 5.0.4, can I just install the actual applications and omit the “goodies”? In other words, can I skip Apple Loops, Motion Content, LiveType Extras, Studio Pro Extras, etc.? Aren’t they the same as what already came with 5.0? Or does 5.1 require those things be updated as well? Also, are there new things packaged in?

This would make the upgrade time 10 minutes per system vs. 2 hours per system.

well, it does tell you to use the original install discs that came with 5.0 for all the extras so I would assume that it would be able to find the originally installed material. I would say try the basic install with none of the goodies. If it can’t reconnect to the goodies, then you’ll probably need to install everything from scratch.
