I’m doing a DVD music project. Does anyone have a workflow formula for getting 5.1 audio tracks that were mixed at a professional sound facility laid back to Final Cut? Is it simply a matter of bringing in the tracks and synching them to the 2 pop?

    Thanks!

    Ashley,

That will get you in sync, but the tracks are Dolby encoded so you can’t just use them as you would typical AIF files. What exactly is it you wish to achieve by bringing them back into FCP?

A stereo mixdown of the 5.1 tracks would be a help for monitoring in FCP, but it really depends what you’re trying to do.
    Care to explain more?
(Usually a 5.1 mix would occur AFTER the edit process, that’s why your request is a little unusual.)
