    Hi folks.

I am rendering a comp with many high rez stills.
“The Kid Stays in the Picture” type of style with the still broken into many layers
and on different Z planes with moves, cc, blurs and rotations.

I keep getting an AE error at a certain point saying.
After Effects Error: Could not create 5000 x 3400 image buffer. (7::39)

What can I do to get past this problem spot? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Rich

Have you tried the secret prefs? They allow you to purge your memory while rendering. Hold down the shift key while accessing the prefs (keep holding down the shift key until the dialog box appears) then look for the secret prefs. Try setting it to purge every 5-15 frames during Make Movie.

It might slow down your render, as AE will have to recreate cached frames, but it may help solve your problem.

Keep your Task Manager (or whetever it’s called on my switched-off Mac) open to monitor RAM usage.
