Okay, I have to figure out some creative ideas of showing 50 pics of people w/cars. I could do anything from a reveal using solids to actually animating the pictures in 3D space. I’m having a little trouble coming up with some creative ideas. Any examples or ideas? Thanks!

Do you actually have to stay on the pictures? How fast does the slideshow need to go?

If it’s gonna be a traditional speed slideshow… as in slow enough to recognize the content of every picture…

gradient wipe is a great wipe effect, so is card wipe – if used well, they are the only wipe effects i can bear. displacement maps work well with both of these effects. and it’s much more creative than a cross fade.

you can try and set up a 3d space – like a gallery and move a camer around to each pictures and frame them in 3d space maybe with some frame dingbats.

it’s hard with these slow slideshows. but if you make the content interesting by putting some kind of motion into it – it should turn out allright.

It can be a very quick thing, you only need to get the feel of all these people with their cars.

here is an example, not mine of course but to give you an idea. This was done in AE using camera/ 3d movement. Just to give you an idea. Guy goes by the name kbainter who produced this. This type of work with out doubt can take time and a lot of render time. I did one using video which was pretty cool. I’m still learning camera movement..

My thoughts also! Have a wedding montage to do, and would love to do something new and fun.

Perhaps something like Example 31 from Ayatoweb may help as an idea. With camera moves ramped to zoom into, out of and between various pics you want to highlight depending on the music beats would keep the show alive.

BTW, kbainter is Kyle Bainter…a Canopus Edius user. I’ve contacted him and he has offered to email the project file of afore-mentioned work to anyone from here who wants it. Not sure of filesize, but contact him via his website and request for the project file.
