    Hi.

I have to make footage for a LCD screen with video.
    I have 4×3 PAl video.
I don’t want that all the footage lost the aspect ratio on the LCD screen.
What is the best way to do that in FCP 5?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards, Johan

    Hi Chris.

Yes, I have a monitor witch I can set at 16×9
Is there no tool in FCP or a filter to do this.
And what has to bve the output resolution then?

    Thanks.

    Johan

    Johan,

To make 4×3 into widescreen you make an anamorphic project, and you have to blow up your footage I think it’s 133% and crop off the top and bottom. You lose resolution, but that’s the only way I know to do it.
Might be some more clues in here, been a while since I read it.

There’s also a tutorial at rippletraining about how to do this for the Web which may be helpfull.
