    Hi,

there is a 4K Project coming in shortly. Base will be 4K scanned DPX Files. Is our current MacPro (2012) able to handle this in general (GPU)? Our Systems are the fastest available and hosts up to 3 Titan Cards in a Cubix Expander. Our SAN (DVS) is able to playback 4K. But our current 8gb fc client connections are a bit weak and should be upgraded to 16gb. Is an upgrade to 16gb fc useful in terms of pci bandwidth? Speaking of revision 2.0 vs. 3.0. Or is the new Mac Pro equipped with an pci expander the better choice ? (I don´t think so). Or should we upgrade to Linux? Are Decklinck 4K Cards working under Linux? On the other hand we don´t have a 4K viewing option. The grading will done on a 2K DCI Compliant Christie Projector. Is there a trustful proxy Workflow in Resolve 10 which you can recommend? Or is Resolve 11 with it´s new caching system the best solution to work with 2K Proxies?

I am looking forward hearing from the 4K experts.

    Big thanks

    hi luca,

with dpx you can easily create proxies within resolve since the very beginning via prox manager in the media tab.
and once your san is fast enough, you should face no problems.
