4K properties and render templates
I have a project with 3840 x 2160 @60fps on the timeline. I want to render it in 4K for Youtube using the Sony XAVCS rendering template which gives me the same parameters as the video on the timeline.
However, there is no way to set the “properties” in the “file” dropdown to match these settings.
I’m using Vegas 14.
Here’s the question: Do the properties settings of the project effect the outcome of the rendering?

No, not the project properties of the frame size, frame rate, field order or aspect ratio. These project properties only affect preview and generated media.
Sony XAVC-S is a standard not defined for 4k but limited to UHD. You would either need to take the intra frame version of XAVC or use another renderer.

One more question if I can…
Might the best render template for the 4k be the ProRes XQ ones for Youtube?
I didn’t see any templates with the XAVCS without the “S” in them.

XAVC Intra are the first ones in the preset list of the Sony XAVC renderer.
