  • 480p support in 7.9.4 software — how do I access it?

    Hi all

Relatively new Intensity Shuttle owner here. I’ve installed from scratch with the current USB 3.0 Desktop Video 7.9.4 drivers package, and confirmed that’s the version I’m running, as the Blackmagic Control Panel reports “Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 7.9.4” in the title bar, while Media Express’ About page reports version 2.3. (No prior versions of Blackmagic’s software have ever been installed on this PC, so there’s no possibility of anything left over from a prior install causing problems.)

According to the release notes for the 7.9.4 package, the update adds “Support for 480p/60 capture with Media Express 2.3 with Intensity Shuttle and UltraStudio Pro”

However, if I go to Edit :: Preferences in Media Express, the dropdown for Project Video Format doesn’t include any 480p modes. My only choices are as follows:

    NTSC
    NTSC 23.98
    PAL
    NTSC Progressive
    PAL Progressive
    HD 1080p 23.98
    HD 1080p 24
    HD 1080p 25
    HD 1080p 29.97
    HD 1080p 30
    HD 1080i 50
    HD 1080i 59.94
    HD 1080i 60
    HD 720p 50
    HD 720p 59.94
    HD 720p 60

I’m wondering if somebody can help me confirm why I’m missing the 480p support that’s now supposed to be available in the current version, and what I can do to enable this.

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hi Kristian

No joy. I just get a black video and/or frame grab with nothing in it, with the device configured to 480p, and NTSC Progressive set in Media Express. 🙁

    Any other suggestions?

    Hi Kristian or anybody else

The suggestion to use NTSC Progressive mode for 480p HDMI capture didn’t work for me. Are there any other suggestions, please?

    Thanks!

I am having the same problem, did you ever get a solution?

No, I didn’t get a solution. As far as I can tell, the release notes are nonsense and no 480p60 option exists.

Beyond the initial three-word response which I tried and found to be incorrect, I never received any other reply or assistance from Blackmagic, and I consider this device to be essentially unsupported.
