I’ve found a lot of info on file based 444 workflow with FCP, but nothing about HDCam…so I post this question to the gurus…

client shot on Alexa, corrected footage and output to HDCam SR 444 @ 23.98. we have ingested this 444 media into FCP with Kona 3 using dual link and ProRes 444 capture codec…

we also took it in 422 for safety. The 422 footage looks great, the 444 footage looks like the color space/Gamma was converted to 709 from RGB, high blacks, low whites, undersaturated….

what is the correct workflow to use the 444 footage in it’s native 444 RGB (sequence settings, etc) the system we are editing this on has a Black Magic decklink, not a Kona, so I don’t know if this has any affect on the footage, but the preliminary testing was on a Kona system (capture, etc)

TIA for any help. just wish we got files instead of tape, lol.
