I have a project that was shot 16:9 but when it was put into FCP, the sequence was not set to anamorphic, making bars appear at the top. I accidentally did this last year, but I had enough time to re-edit everything into a sequence that was set properly. I do not have time to do this now. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thank you.

Copy the sequence (command a, command c in the timeline) and paste them into an anamorphic sequence. I’m not in front of fcp now but I think that works.

you will then have to remove the scale and distort aspect ratio of all the clips. This is under the motion clips. If you have not applied and scale your self you can select all > then right click and Basic Motion and Distort.

Quite right. I forgot that step. In the new anamorphic seq, command a, right click, remove attributes, distort (and maybe scale).
