Starting with the Vegas build properties to the render settings, what is the proper way to put 4:3 video in a widescreen format? I would like to use the method where you copy the video track and put in underneath to fill the screen & blur it. I’ve seen so many different posts with different ways of doing this that I’m completely confused!

    Thanks

Set your projectproperties as widescreen and add your 4:3 footage. Then open the event pan/crop window of the 4:3 footage and reightclick in the popup window. Choose the option ‘match output aspect”

To add to Theo’s post, apply the Gaussian Blur FX to the now stretched clip and adjust the blur as desired.
That’s all that I do and I’m quite happy with the result.
