Is there anyway to change a 4:3 format to 16:9 without have to recapture? I thought of scaling the 16:9 by 125% or cropping the 4:3, but I was hoping there was a better option. The end product will be a chaptured DVD. Thanks

You will have to scale the 4:3 footage to fill the 16:9 frame…so by 33%. If this is SD 4:3, and HD 16:9…ouch. Even ouchy if this is 16:9 SD, because blowing up SD by 33% is not a minor amount.

But if you make a 4:3 end product, the 16:9 won’t be scaled, you’d be doing a Pan and Scan. Unless it is 16:9 letterboxed in a 4:3 frame. In which I say, “ouch.”
