Okay, I was really excited about the ability to mix frame rates because we shoot everytihng with the RED at 23.98 but still deliver a lot of things at SD. We do the entire edit at 1080 23.98Psf and at the end we bring it into a 30i(29.97) project. and bingo…

the sequence is duplicated and converted to SD 29.97. Everything is downconverted but squeezed for anamorphic. is there a setting to center cut without applying a resize effect to everything? Or letterbox for that matter? I can’t find any documentation in any of the help menu’s that explains the process and the options. What are other people doing? Does anyone know where I can find something that explains it?

PS The fact that it won’t downconvert a sequence that contains keys with alpha’s is a pain but I can live with that.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

In order to get center cut or letterboxed outputs, you need to add a Reformat effect on an (empty) top layer.
