    Im getting an error while trying to burn some mpeg2s that are over 4 gigs onto a dvd for data storage…Im using Pioneer RecordNow DX…is this an OS problem or software…and are there any work arounds?

    Brian,

    Can’t point you to the setting in RecordNow, but you could try changing the file system from ISO to UDF or ISO/UDF.

    Btw: A single layer DVD can’t hold much more than 4GB. The Giga in “4.7GB” is decimal based (1,000,000,000 bytes), whereas the Gigabyte on a computer is binary based (1,073,741,824 bytes). This makes that a 4.7GB DVD has a storage capacity of about 4.37GB.

    To avoid possible problems later, I would suggest to limit the size of a single file on a DVD to 4GB or less.
