4-channel Audio tracks missing in Premiere but showing in FCP
I have to edit footage which is in prores and has 4 audio tracks when in FCP. Only thing I have to edit in premiere and the application only tinks there are 2 audio tracks, thus eliminating 2 lav mics (tracks 3 & 4).
I tried importing an xml file from fcp giving me 4 audio tracks in premiere, but the tracks 3 & 4 are offline. Premiere just doesn’t see that the video file has 4 different channels, only the first 2.
Anyone has an idea?

PPro might think you are working with 2 stereo pairs as opposed to 4 mono tracks.

Thanks for the suggestion but it has corrected my problem.
Could the problem be that the files are in Prores422 and I am editing on a PC ??

That I do not know as I typically use Macs.

ProRes runs on Windows.
I know that Premiere Pro expects to see 4 audio tracks on P2 media, etc… I’m not sure how ProRes structures those tracks in the QT file.
If the files are configured in such a way that PPro sees two stereo tracks, you can try modifying the clips in the bin and set the stereo audio to dual mono…or if that doesn’t work, try to set your audio preferences to import stereo as dual mono and re-import the media and see if the tracks all show up.
