  • 4 Channel Audio render from AE?

My client has asked that I render out QTs with alpha and 4 channel audio embedded. Does anyone know how to do this? I know in FCP I could do a 4 channel QT, but since it is a file with alpha embedded, I have to do it out of AE. However, it seems like AE takes my 4 channel audio and mixes it to stereo. Any help would be appreciated.

You can do it out of FCP as a ProRes 4444, if you and your client have Final Cut Studio 3.

Thanks Joe. Forgot about the magic of Prores4444. I had trouble exporting 4 channels out of FCP using QT conversion, but same as source works like a charm. Thanks!

You’re welcome. But make sure your client has Studio 3 as well, or else the file will be inaccessible to them.
