3TB drive only showing 2.2TB via Thermaltake BlacX Duet USB connection

Thanks, Dave, but no i’m not editing with this USB drive. It is for backup only, though i probably should be looking for an FW800-connected external anyway for a little more transfer speed. I’m moving stuff off the 3TB drive, will reformat it in 2 partitions and see if that works…

The BlacX Duet only supports drives up to 2tb. It says so on the box. There are some out there now that support up to 3tb drives, and very few that support 4tb drives. Google SATDOCKU3E if you need one that supports 4tb drives

Ya, thanks Mike. And a workaround is to put the 3TB drives in an internal slot, partition them so the partitions are all less than 2TB, take the drives out and then the Thermaltake works great with them.
