Okay, I’m really trying to search (and advance search) the archives, etc, but I’m not finding anything on this.

I keep hearing about this, and as a new HDX-900 owner I’d love to hear what issues may exist between using -3dB gain and Gamma Filmlike 3.

I know that I’ve avoided -3dB in my SDX-900s when highlights that I want to keep are present, because -3dB gain robs the top end of the signal and does a strange highlight clipping on it’s own that can be avoided at 0dB gain.

Do I need to worry about this with my HDX-900? Of course I will test on my own, but curious to know what’s “known” out there already.

Many thanks for any and all input.
