3D with layers? Some sort of Parallax
Hi all
After years of doing mainly production jobs and hiring talented folks like yourselfs I went back to my roots and want to do some after effects again. To find much has changed and some things are the same.
Last week I was talking with someone who tried to explain me that you can create a Parallax Effect with masking layers on top of each other. It sounded to me like shadowing and bring elements from a drawing in front. But that wasn’t it. I know how to create 3D from 2D pictures with photoshop and the clone stamp tool. But the techniques with the layer mask I didn’t understand. It should be the same process as this 3D foto:

So now I’m hoping someone here can tell me where to look at to try this.

Hi,
You can do this by using displacement map. There are tutorials on the subject.

But isn’t that the same? You still have to mask out the part you don’t need and clone stamp the background. And next “paint” the details on a displacement map layer. Or I’m I missing some steps? Will look for tutorials with this information. Thanks!
