3D warps; Filmstrip Warp in 3D space tutorial????

Maybe Jon will tell us more about the Filmstrip Follows Warp example

Hi tbmotion,

The filmstrip animations are actually fairly simple. I created the strip (with empty frames) in Illustrator, each frame can be filled with a still image or a movie. Put all of that into a precomp that’s the size of the strip itself… really wide and short, in my case.

Now apply the 3D Warp effect to another layer and use the first precomp as the colormap.

Let me know if you get stuck and I can go into more detail.

I DID FIGURE IT OUT AFTER I STARTED USING IT WITH 3D INVIGORATOR IN MIND. I USED THE COLOR MAP FEATURE AND ALL IS WORKING PRETTY GOOD. I WOULD PREFER THAT THEY CHANGE SOME OF THE CONTROLS TO INCLUDE BEZIER HANDLES AND CENTER POINTS, INSTEAD OF JUST NUMBER REFERENCES.

If you don’t mind, could you send me your .aep project file for the filmStrip project so that I can see how you created that sequence? I was trying to follow your instructions, but I am not getting it to work.

I must make known that I am relatively new to After Effects.
