3D tracking matte
Hi, Ive run into a small problem here and I am not really sure there is a solution but I thought maybe you guys could help me. The situation is as follows:
I have 2 layers in 3d space, lets call them A and B. A is constantly orbiting B. Now B is just a simple solid and should only act as a mask, so whenever A moves in front of it, A should be visible, but hidden everytime A moves behind it. Now comes the problem: I dont want B itself to be visible, since its hiding other layers in the background. I cant really rearrange the layers the way I would want because of other 2D layers getting in the way and I would want those to stay 2D if its possible. Setting B as an alpha, or inverted alpha mask simply ignores the 3D space and just hides (or shows) A, regardless of the Z position
So heres the question: Is there a way to make tracking mask work correctly in 3D space or a way to “hide” the B layer to the main view and make it only act as something that hides the layers behind it in Z space?
