  • 3D tracking and huge values.

    Hey everyone,
I am trying to fix a solid (for the matter..) or particular origin point(for the real deal) to a 3d tracked footage.

lets say the solid needs to be on a table.

When I track everything goes fine but when I transfer the nulls(tracking points) to the after effects program(from the 3d tracking program), the only way for me to put the solid in place is with huge values like 10000 or even 20000pixels in the x/y/z values.(so the tracking will look good and real).

Any idea why this is happening?
It would be great to put the solid on the footage with normal values so I could also animate them (try to move it a bit when its in high values, itll jump right off the screen. :()

Thank in advance to all repliers.

what tracking software? It has to do with the scale of your 3d scene. Try and scale your 3d scene down.

    I actually used Boujou.
I do have an option to change the scale so I changed it from 1 to 10.
still the same problem.. should I try 1000 ?

Boujou is known for having scale issues when coming to AE. Search the forums and you’ll find a few threads about it, with various workarounds and suggestions… or google, i know there are a few blogs/forums that have discussed it 🙂

It is a bit annoying, but we just have to deal with it i guess.
