  3d Spinning circle on another layer

  Hello,
  Animating a circle spinning half way then eventually lands on the layer. Same principle the intro for the Spin City TV intro.

  I have two layers. The first is a basic circle imported from illustrator. The second is the ground layer.
  The circle is going to do a half revelation then land on the ground.

  Problem, animating the anchor point on the circle so it touches the ground layer and not cut through into the ground layer beneath it since these are 3d layers.

  

  Advice?
