    hi:

    I want to confirm that the new workflow when rendering 3d is 788×576 as square pixels.

    Before cs4 it was 768×576 that you dropped inside a dv/d1 non square.

    Now it is 788×576 inside a 1.09 pal non square comp.

    That’s correct. This is the actual pixel aspect that D1/DV PAL equipment always used, so AE is now behaving correctly in this regard.

    We have a bunch of renders as ccir pal from maya. Would that work if we just put them inside a dv/d1 pal in cs4?

    or do we have to re render?

    Yes, it will work perfectly. Note that if you also wanted to pass along 3D data from the 3D program things may not align properly, but in any cases, it’s usually these things are performed with square pixels to begin with.
    But, yes, you shouldn’t have any problems.
