    Hello,

trying to figure out if it’s possible to create a motion path from a shape in 3d. I’ve just been using control points to make it so far…

Just wondering if motion can do the graphing grunt work for me, or is it just a matter of getting out my graphing calculator to use with a $5000 machine?!

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Howdy,

You can use a shape as the basis for a Motion Path behavior, but all the points on shapes are always coplanar, so you can’t do stuff like spirals, etc. To get a true 3D motion path, you have you create it using the Motion Path behavior or by keyframing the Position channel.

I guess what I’m asking is how to use the existing shape?
