For my film class, I’m trying to track a flock of birds and manipulate them into my name as the intro on a shot of the sky. I’m aware that I need to use element, but I’m not exactly positive how to do the manipulation part please help!

If you are going to use element, I would suggest the forums over at VideoCoPilot.net

If you just need bird silhouettes, that can be done in AE fairly easily with particles and a simple bird animation made from solids. If you google “after effects bird flock” you find a bunch of tutorials and info. There’s a template for a bird particle on adobe exchange but I don’t have the link, sorry.
