3d lines //stuck

This is the effect that I’m working to recreate, it’s around 35-40 seconds in (when the screen turns yellow and the black lines appear)
I’ve got my lines pre-comped and set on an offset/loop…. but I’m stuck on the 3d distortion. It looks like it was potentially purely done in AE, possibly with help of a plugin.
Does anyone have any advice for what the next step is, or a link to how a similar effect was accomplished?

The curvy lines I saw were before the 35-40 sec mark- as a matter of fact the video I saw from your link was about 30 sec long all together. That effect on yellow background is an animated 2d layer with FreeForm displacement mapping (comes with CS5, separate plugin for earlier versions)tilted in 3d space using the controls from the plugin.
