    Hello friendos,

I’ve created (a 3D globe) using CC Sphere applied to a line art world map I made. The goal is to have a rotating globe with lines that will protract from points on the globe and reveal flags. Here’s a rough idea of what I’m talking about.

However, I want the objects orbiting the globe to disappear as they go behind it. This is the issue I need resolved. Is there a simple way to mask out the flags/beams as they rotate around the globe, or will I have to animate the masks by hand? The sphere is set to show only the outside and, as you can see, there’s no background to it. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if there’s a simpler way to set up this project to a get the ferris wheel effect (objects animating on and orbiting spinning globe), please share your wisdom. The globe, flags and beams are currently attached using these expressions.

Here is a copy of my project files.

Thanks in advance for any/all help!

    Blessings and respect,
    Justice

    Hey Justice,

Have you tried to have a shape layer in front of each flags and Alpha Inverted Matte them? I am sure you will get the result. 8874_globespincollected.zip
