When rotating a layer in After Effects’ 3D enviroment, the back side shows the front in reverse. Is there a way to have it show a solid color?

    Thanx,

There is a plugin called “detph cue” from buena to do that.
Another way is to use 2 layers with a very small z depth between them

    Probably the easiest way:

    Dup the layer (Ctrl D)

Add 0.1 to the Z position

Effect > Render > Fill (still dup layer) – choose a color you like (red default)

Parent the Dup layer to the Original Layer

Now any camera moves or Original layer rotations will have a solid color as the back.

You could just create a solid and simlarly off set it in Z (copy/paste position, then add offset)and parent it to the Original.
