A problem i’ve been running into with AE 6 (not using 6.5) is that in active camera view 3D background objects sometimes appear in front of foreground objects and vice versa. its almost as if the objects are obeying their layer order rather than their z-depth coordinates.
    Is this a bug?
    thanks,

    Bruce

Is it possible the layers intersect somewhere? Are you using the advanced renderer?

    Hi Dan,
yeah i’m using the advanced 3D renderer.
Intrestingly, if I solo the offending layers they appear as the should – background BEHIND foreground. but then revert to foreground behind background again when unsoloed.
I’ve even layed the lyers out in the timeline so that the the background layer is underneath the foreground. Same problem.
i’m running and Apple G5 with OX 10.3.8, AE pro version 6.
    thanks for your help.
