I’m doing some compositing and for unavoidable reasons, my mattes can’t be perfect. EdgeFlash would normally solve this quite nicely, but, I’m using 3d layers and a moving camera, and EdgeFlash refuses to use the information from the 3d transform placed on the various layers, to accurately calculate the background and matte for the effect.

I’m trying to do this before I’ve locked my camera motion; right now, my planned solution is to lock my camera motion, and then precomp or render separate background, foreground, and matte passes, and then combine them using S_EdgeFlash.

Is there a more efficient way of doing this? Is it possible to tell EdgeFlash to use the camera’s viewpoint to calculate the correct angle for the foreground and background? Because simply, this sucks, and I want to be able to control all my elements in one composition, rather than making a change to two or three comps everytime I make a change in one.
