3D helix path with expression

Hello Sideral! Hope you are doing well! And yes! It is possible to achieve the helix path with Adobe After Effects expressions! Its always good to ask these questions since we are all here to learn new things and improve ourselves. One way to do this is using the “Rotate Path” effect from a plugin called the Red Giant Universe. In this plugin. There is an option to apply “Helix” rotation to a path.

To use the plugin, you can follow these steps:

1. Create a path shape using a pen tool in After Effects.
2. Select the path shape layer and apply the “Rotate Path” effect from the “Red Giant Universe” plugin.
3. In the “Rotate Path” effect’s “Properties” panel, set the “Rotation Type” to “Helix” and adjust the “Radial Scale” and “Radial Rotation” values as needed.

You can also modify the path shape using keyframes and a custom expression if needed.
