    Hi all,

I tried to search this topic but couldn’t find anything, strange because I am sure this question must’ve been asked a 1000 times before. Anyway here we go.

It’s quite simple. I’d like to apply the 3D flag plugin to a mask and not the entire layer. No matter what i do it doesn’t seem to work.

Here is a pic of the mask

    Is that feasable anyway?.
Maybe another plugin would do the trick, if so which one ?

    Thanks

    Phil

    Hi Philippe,

The solution depends in what you’re trying to accomplish with the mask.

Having said that, my hunch is that you’ll get what you want by putting the mask into a precomp and moving the attributes for it into the precomp.

Then select the precomp for the color layer “get size from” color layer pop-up in the flag plug-in. You can change what’s seen in the mask by changing what’s in the precomp.

    Does this help?

    Hi Jon,

    OF COURSE !!!!

I am really green with AE, I did one Total training a couple of weeks ago and I am still learning along the way. Strangely, a couple of days ago I actually had the reflex of thinking about nesting a comp so that the effect would affect the entire animation.

I don’t know why I didn’t have the same reflex here.

That did the trick Jon. Thank you for your time

    Phil
