3d extrude/bevel in After Effects

August 1, 2005 at 11:58 amIs there any method for turning 2d-layers into 3d and adding z-depth(extrude) in after effects?
The idea is to extrude an animated layer with alpha and get that nice bevel-look…
Any ideas?
(Have tried out 3d invigorator, but as far as I can tell, it’s only possible with layered AI-files…. )

August 1, 2005 at 12:39 pmNope, you’re simply expecting miracles and mathematically impossible things (well, there are ways, but normally you cannot add real depth to pixel based data) You best bet is Revison FX’ Shape/ Shade, which does some nice beveling/ chisel effects, but that’s all.
