June 25, 2007 at 3:27 pmAE doesn’t allow 3D extrusion directly. Some plugins do. Invigorator and ProAnimator are the most popular. The Explosion plugin also does some extrusion so play around with that but not really designed for 3D text.
We use ProAnimator and love it. Couldn’t be easy to create 3D text, just type it in. It also allows for Illustrator Import.

June 26, 2007 at 4:54 pmif you want to use illustator with the 3d extruder make sure you it expand appearance in your settings before saving it out. This will break it apart into vector paths. This may help.
