When I try to bring a comp that contains 3D layers into a another comp, the depth within that comp gets flattened into a single plate. So when I activate 3D attributes for that layer, all I have to work with is a flat object, but 3D placement within the comp. Is there a way to preserve that depth and translate it into the comp it is being placed into?

    Hit the collapse transformation button.
