  • 3D Camera Solver for Static Shot?

I’ve got a shot of a tablet pc that needs a screen composited on to it. Everything is in place, however, in the source material, the camera was shooting at a wide open aperture, causing some blurring along parts of the edge of the screen. I’m trying to replicate that blurring, and I’m wondering if anyone has good advice, tips, or tricks for adding blur to a plane?

My first guess was to use the 3D camera solver, but because it is a static shot with very little movement, the algorithm seems to get chewed up (has anyone else had this problem?) Obviously the 3D solver wasn’t meant for this kind of shot, but that seems like the easiest way to replicate the depth of field of the original shot. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!
