    Hi,
    can anyone please help me.
I have a comp made up of a grid 48 ‘3d’ boxes. the boxes rotate to reveal a different image with each 90 degree rotation. it all works fine and the boxes are made and positioned accurately except this..
where the top row of 8 boxes sits above the row below instead of sitting flush you can see a break between the rows. The same can also be seen on the bottom row and the row above it. the ‘artifact’ is seen a little on on the next row in , but on the centre rows the boxes all appear to sit flush. I am supposing this is something to do with way AE generates perspective in 3D. everything is flush when seen with the front view and checking right and top views confirms that the rows are all positioned accurately.

Can anyone throw any light on this ?

I have asked several collegues but so far the only solution has been to learn a true 3D package cos AE is not up to the job. I hope this is not the case as I wont to get this finished by Monday.

    Thanks in advance

    love

    chris

    Thanks for the help..
I haven’t got the project in front of me, but there are no problems with the rotations only this perspective thing. Are you saying that if i put the comp with all the boxes and the animation into a new comp and leave it 2d the weirdness will go ?
    i hope so

    thanks again
