Wanting to use the Decklink HD to import sequential image files and edit, then output. What is the best image format to goto when importing into Premiere, or Vegas. My client wants to use jpg for storage reasons. Is one better than the other? (I am aware of the compression in jpg, but they seem to be fine with the tradeoff).

Also how does the app handle the sequential image files, I assume it takes the files and creates and avi file out of them on the media drives? yes

One last question- Can you export a Quicktime reference out of premiere?

    Thanks,

    Chris

not sure about the referenced quicktime, but Premiere is fine with image sequences. We use TGA sequences quite a lot. They can compress quite well too especially when the pictures have a lot of flat colour.

It won’t render anything to the media drives unless you go beyond realtime capabilities. Otherwise it just streams from the drive, as a single avi file would – both are basically sequential frames at the end of the day.
