What? “After Effects error: folders are too deeply nested to create full path for file “my file”. (3::32)

How can this be? I can open a file. Do essentially nothing, then attempt to save, and I get this error message? I made no changes with regard to nesting or adding comps or anything at all. How can After Effects all of a sudden have a problem with nesting levels when I haven’t changed them from when I opened the file? Running version 7 on Mac OS Tiger.

Any advice from AE wizards out there?

Delete AE’s preference files. they can, and in my case have become corrupted.

I have created my “master” set of preferences. I then copied this AE preference folder to a secure location. Anytime AE starts acting up, I simply drop this folder over the corrupted one…Voila, 2 secs and back up and running.

    Hope this helps
