    Hi all,

I run Lion on one system drive in the mac pro and Snow leopard in another.
Am i right in thinking Lion runs natively in 64bit eg from start up or do I have to
boot it into 64bit. The same applies to Snow leopard, if that makes sense?

    Thank you.

    Danny.

Lion defaults to 64bit whereas with Snow Leopard the kernel defaulted to being 32bit. You can open Activity Monitor and look at the “Kind” column to see what is running in 64bit mode.

    Thanks for the reply mate.

One more thing….so I am running a 64bit app in a 32bit os, is there any point to that?

    Thank you.

    Danny
