Just upgraded from Vegas 5 to 9. Cannot capture HD on my 64-bit HP laptop because of the firewire issue. Desktop is a 32-bit system. Can I edit a project going back and forth between the 32-bit and 64 bit machines? The desktop renders way faster but is in the unheated basement so I prefer to edit on the laptop and render and burn on the desktop. But once my husband is home I have to edit in the basement due to the TV noise interfering with the editing…

Yes as long as you don’t add any 3rd party FX in the 32-bit version that you don’t have for the 64-bit version. If you keep with the Sony FX you will be OK.

You should be asking Red Giant that question as often as possible. If customers are not knocking their door down for it with cash in hand, there is no business justification to build it. Right now, Vegas is the only 64-bit game in town. I’m guessing that as soon as Adobe ships CS5 you’ll see more 64-bit plug-ins and that’s ONLY if Adobe doesn’t support 32-bit plug-ins in their 64-bit versions. It’s an ecosystem. If there is no demand, there will be no supply.
