    Quick question; I have an XL2 and I have shot in 24 and 60 never really used the 30p. What advantages are there to 30 and what setting do I use in FCP? I didn’t see any setting for it in my presets?

    Thanks for any and all help;

    The biggest advantage is not having to worry about adding/removing pulldown like you do with 24p. In addition, motion is somewhat smoother because of the extra 6 frames per second. Working with 30p is exactly the same as 60i, so use the DV NTSC codec in FCP. If your footage is 16:9 then capture using the DV NTSC 48K Anamorphic setting.

    Don,
    Thanks for the reply. You are right about how it is smoother.

    Thanks
