30p in final cut pro: is it worth it?

720p is always progressive, hence the p in the name. 60p is FRAMES per second, not fields. So 720p60 is always progressive as well.

You can simply add the 720p29.97 footage to the 29.97p SD timeline and be fine.

Thanks guys. Duh, that makes total sense to not downconvert. Plus, with just dropping the 720p footage into the SD timeline I have some room for reframing shots if need be.
