30P and Mercalli
I have a video shot on SD, 60i. I discovered today that now that I have Mercalli anti-shake, I have some new templates for rendering. I tried to render the project to AVI with the template, proDadMercalliNTSC DV 30p. The render went great. But when I bring the resultant avi into Vegas (8.0c) it won’t play. What am I missing here?

These templates are not for your use and are only for the Mercalli to do motion tracking. If you look at the video format it says, “proDAD Saver for Mercalli” so this is a special codec used by Mercalli only. You should not be using them for your video rendering.

Thanks, John. Is there a way within Vegas 8 to convert 60i to 30p or does it take an add-on?

Force resample (usually not necessary) and use deinterlace settings.
Not the BEST deinterlacer, but it does a good job, especially when downconverting. We did this all the time/daily, until we bought EX1’s for training vids.Douglas Spotted Eagle
