October 5, 2005 at 10:37 pmThere is no reason why this should not work. The only thing you have to be aware of is the fact that Media 100 i/sw/HD works interlaced internally, so all effects you do in the system (time effects, transitions,…) will play out interlaced. But this should be no big problem.

October 5, 2005 at 10:43 pmthanks floh you’re always the best to answer this stuff however perhaps i should have been more specific about my system, it is media 100 i not media 100HD. the footage i will be recieving is SD although it is 30P 16:9 anamorphic. i have been able to digitize media 29.97 fps 16*9 ANAMORPHIC in the past.

There is no difference in Media 100 i or HD for the use of Progressive SD material. Just digitize it in NTSC 29.97 fps interlaced and your whole image will be digitized. Inside Media 100 (i or HD) all effects will happen interlaced, so if you need to stay progressive all the way (or if you want to create “correct” TimeFX) bring the material to AE, interpret it as progressive, do your effects and render out a progressive clip again.
