When I export a 30fps QT file from After Effects and then import into FCP, FCP reads it as 24fps. I open the video up in QT and it says it’s 30fps. I normally use the Animation Codec in AEP, but I’ve tried a number of other codecs too try to fix the problem. The only solution I’ve found is to re-export from Quicktime using a DV codec, but this is rather annoying.

    Anybody else experiencing this?

    AEP CS3 8.0.1.8
    FCP 6.0.3
    QT 7.4.5
    MacPro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 6 GB RAM

    Thanks,

I’ve encountered this a couple of times. Somehow the frame rate data that FCP reads is screwed up.

Open it up in Cinema Tools and conform it to the proper frame rate (it works instantaneously). Since it already is the proper frame rate, nothing actually happens except the metadata gets fixed.
