Is it just me, or does Resolve seem to use 30 and 29.97, and 24 and 23.976 interchangeably?

I’m working in a 29.97 project and currently the timelines on the Conform page all say 30fps, even though I know they’re all set up as 29.97. I’ve also been reading about people having issues with XML round trips changing from 29.97 to 30 and 23.976 to 24. I’ve been having some issues with exports at 24.00 and 30.00. It’s really difficult to figure out where the problems are when the interface seems to use the numbers interchangeably.

    Thanks

There is a flag near the beginning of the XML that should read NTSC if you are working in a fractional frame rate. I started getting a lot of roundtrip XMLs that would create a 24/30 fps sequence on rebuild in Final Cut, but flipping that flag in a text editor fixes it.

Not completely sure what the absolute root cause is — whether or not its Apple that doesn’t realize there is a difference between 24 and 23.98. I mean, c’mon, you have to create 23.98 as a “custom” frame rate in Quick Time Conversion? Really? And if its “24”… I need more reassurance than that, because I have been dealing with that 1000/1001 for a very long time, and not always happily, thank you, telecine double-system pulldown DAT drifting sync.
