Thanks in advance for your help, everyone here is great!

    1. I am looking for a program that(hopefully opens in Vegas)will animate text for me; things like smooshing text together, bouning, and even basic 3D. I know some of this could be done in Vegas, but it take A LOT of work doing each letter at a time. I want something that does it for me (not with a huge learning curve) and looks Broadcast, no cheese please.

    2. I see the effect on TV (TBS)a lot where text goes behind someone or someone, let’s say Jerry Seinfeld’s body is cut out of a scene and a different background is put in while he is moving in the scene. Again I know I can mask this out but doing it by hand one frame at a time is nuts, there has to be an esier way.

    3. I have read the posts on bringing in DVD’s to Vegas, using a DVD player, firewire and a computer. However some DVD’s are very Dark; and I believe this is so because of the differences in set up; the question is how to I correct that so it doesn’t look so milky. is there an easy setting or corrector to fix the darkness or wrong setup

Thanks Craig, Looking forward to V7

I am sorry, I was not clear on my question. I was asking Fuddam. Which one of those softwares that he recommended is the best with use of vegas and best overall.

Answer to question #2: Rotoscoping – some applications allow you to do rotoscoping (cutting out areas) using splines and you can fudge the frame-by-frame, but frame-by-frame touchup of the points is usally done anyway or it starts to look bad.

The key to making it faster is to belong to a production house that does it all the time – and practice. There aren’t a lot of shortcuts for something like that. POST production is a time and labor intensive job.
