3 questions: how to find flash frames, slip with the keyboard, and use the Edit/Group/Region Selection tool
This is kind of a grab-bag post, with three questions I’ve wondered about recently:
1) In Avid, I understand there’s a command that finds flash frames (1-2 frames of black where clips aren’t quite adjacent in the timeline). Is there a way to do that in Final Cut? The “Next Gap” command finds gaps in the audio, too. I know the real answer is to check it all carefully, but as a precaution when I have to work quickly, I’d like to know if there’s a trick for this.
2) Is there a way to use the Slip tool from the keyboard? After I press “s” I use the mouse to drag. Is there another way to do it?
3) I’ve never quite known what to do with the Edit/Group/Region Selection tool (just under the Arrow on the toolbar). Does anyone use this frequently, and if so, what for?
Thanks!
